SportCheer England announce a new Governance Sub-Committee (27th May 2021)
SportCheer England have developed a new Governance Sub-Committee to assist in the necessary next steps towards Sport England recognition. The sub-committee will comprise members of the current SportCheer England board, to work with external advisors. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Mytton (thevaluecircle) and Nick Lewis, to SportCheer England’s new Governance sub-committee. Both bring a wealth of professional experience and knowledge to the roles, and we are extremely grateful for the expertise and time they are donating to the development of our sport:
Tom Mytton at thevaluecircle
Thevaluecircle is a boutique consultancy specialising in leadership, strategy, governance and change. From their hub in Yorkshire, the team supports clients from Cornwall to Cumbria in a range of industries, including health and social care, financial services, sports, and higher education. thevaluecircle applies their depth and breadth of expertise to help make organisations run better for the benefit of people – clients’ people, the people clients serve, and thevaluecircle’s people too.
Tom, is Partner at thevaluecircle and an experienced governance and strategy specialist with a track record in providing governance support, strategic advice and operating model redesign across multiple sectors. He has worked with organisations ranging from, NHS England, the England and Wales Cricket Board, the British Horseracing Authority and multiple universities and voluntary organisations. In 2020 Tom’s leading governance work received national recognition as he was nominated as a Rising Star in ICSA’s National Governance Awards. “I am delighted to be working with SportCheer England and support them to take their organisational governance to the next level as the National Governing Body for Cheerleading in England.”
Nick is a Sports, Commercial and Healthcare Lawyer specialising in Governance and Regulation and has advised and acted for a wide variety of clients from International Federations, National Governing Bodies, as well as Professional and Amateur Sports Clubs to the individual Professional and Amateur sports athletes and players. He has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Sports Law and in his spare time he enjoys playing and watching all sports. Nick is keen to assist Sport Cheer England develop into the fully recognised National Governing Body by advising on the Sport England Application as well as assist in developing our commercial and corporate structures to facilitate growth in the foreseeable future, both domestically and on the international stage.
